If you think you suck at everything, you’re probably right! Sorry, but that’s the truth. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, but if you feel like you’re failing at something no matter how hard you try, chances are it’s because you’re not doing something right.
But why? Well, there may be several reasons why you might be feeling this way. I’ll explain the reasons a little later, but you have to accept the fact that you suck at everything or almost everything!
Why Do I Suck At Everything I Do? – Possible Reasons
Here are a few possible reasons (honest but maybe rude) why you might suck at everything:
You have a low IQ!
Intelligence plays a huge role in why we excel or fail at things. It’s not about having the highest IQ, but it does determine how well you can perform tasks and why some people are naturally better at certain things than others.
You lack confidence
If you lack self-confidence, it will prevent you from trying new things and succeeding in them. If you don’t believe in yourself and your abilities, why should anyone else?
You didn’t bother to learn the necessary skills
No matter how hard you try, if you don’t have the right skills or knowledge to do something, you won’t be able to achieve it. You have to put in the time and effort to learn these skills or find someone who can teach you.
You procrastinate
Procrastination can be your worst enemy. It’s easy to keep putting things off until it’s too late and then realize why you failed. When it comes to achieving something, don’t wait till the last minute to start. Start early and stay on top of things.
You’re not motivated enough
No matter how talented you are, without the proper motivation and drive, you won’t be able to reach your goals. Motivation is key, and without it, you’ll never be able to do anything.
You are easily distracted
From social media to Netflix, there are so many distractions that can make it harder for you to stay focused and finish things. Remind yourself why you are doing something, and make sure you stay on track.
Read this piece I wrote about people who easily get distracted.
You are not passionate about what you are doing
If you don’t care about something, why would you want to put in the effort to do it? Find something that you are passionate about and put your energy into that. It’s much easier to succeed when you are interested and invested in what you’re doing.
You’re not setting realistic goals
If you’re setting unrealistic goals for yourself, it can be difficult to achieve them. Make sure your goals are realistic and achievable and that you’re not expecting too much.
You don’t have the right support system
Having a good support system is key when it comes to achieving things. Having someone who supports and encourages you to keep going can make a huge difference in why you succeed or why you fail.
Examples Of People Who Sucked At Everything Before They Succeeded
It’s easy to feel like you’re a failure, but it doesn’t mean that you are. Take some inspiration from these people who sucked at everything before they succeeded:
J.K. Rowling
Before she wrote the Harry Potter series, she was struggling to make ends meet and was even on welfare. But she never gave up, and now she’s one of the most successful authors in the world.
Thomas Edison
He was considered a “failure” in school, but that didn’t stop him from becoming one of the most famous inventors in history. He invented the lightbulb, among many other things.
Steve Jobs
He was fired from Apple, the company he created. But that didn’t stop him from eventually becoming one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the world. He went on to create even more successful products after his time at Apple.
Albert Einstein
He was a slow learner as a child and was considered to be “mentally handicapped.” But he never let that stop him and eventually went on to become one of the most famous scientists in history.
Steven Spielberg
He was rejected from film school twice, but he never gave up. He eventually became one of the most successful directors in Hollywood, with iconic films like Jaws and E.T.
Walt Disney
He was fired from a newspaper because his editor said he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” But Walt Disney never gave up, and he eventually became one of the most iconic figures in entertainment.
Will I Ever Be Successful?
Yes, you will. Everyone has moments of failure, and some people fail more often than others. But it doesn’t mean that you can’t eventually succeed. Identify why you are failing and work on fixing those issues.
Most importantly, don’t give up! Everyone has the potential to be successful, and with the right mindset and dedication, you can achieve anything. Your attitude shall determine your altitude, so stay positive and never give up.
Takeaway Message (I Suck At Everything!)
At the end of the day, why you suck at everything will depend on why you feel this way. Be honest with yourself and pinpoint why you’re struggling, and then work on fixing those things. It might take some time, but if you put in the effort, you can make progress and eventually achieve what you want. Good luck!
Good luck on your journey to success! Remember, why you suck at everything doesn’t define who you are. You can overcome your struggles and be successful if you are strong enough not to let your losses overwhelm you!
Bonus (Unsolicited) Advice!
Don’t be hard on yourself. Don’t compare someone else’s life and successes to yours. Everyone’s journey is different, and you should take the time to figure out why you’re struggling and focus on improving yourself. Don’t get discouraged if things don’t happen overnight.
It takes time, dedication, and effort to become successful. Above all else, don’t forget why you started and why it’s important to you. Work hard, stay focused, and never give up.
You got this!
